From the recording Future of Man
Lyrics
The Future of Technology
(Music - M. Novak, Lyrics – M. Novak, C. Webster)
The future of society- Designer babies, people equal, If people are equal, on what level ? What influence do the parents still have. Are there still leaders? How much is government involved? What is the government – Corporations. Are there elections?
In the past, technology and biology stood alone
The future of man will be a communion of both
The mind and the chip into one were sown
Once united it created unlimited growth
Only one had logic and the other emotion
With the struggle from each for self promotion
Controlling machines with no more than a thought
Was the first goal of this dangerous mating
The machines evolved quickly with all they were taught
Unintended emotions grew without man creating
They’re now writing their own software
Choice now their option their creators unaware
CHORUS:
Is the future of tech to heal, and sustain
Is the future of tech to change without range
Is the future of tech to let humanity remain
Is the future of tech to change natural to strange
Is the future of tech to remove man from earth
Is the future of tech mankind’s rebirth
Damage done for centuries polluting where we live
Religion taught us that the earth was ours to use
No matter what was destroyed the god would forgive
Man was not the caretaker it was his to abuse
Technologies now the new god to repair all the old sins
For mankind to continue technology must win
As food becomes scarce for the growing population
Will a pill be created that replaces the bread
Water wasted on green grass, is man’s fascination
This selfish use will lead to rivers of red
Will technology create drinking water from the sea
For mankind to survive the machines must agree
CHORUS:
Nature’s reality has become virtual for man
Humans now programmed by the technology they made
This degree of control was not in the game plan
All facets of life directed a high price will be paid
With our constant gaze at the screen man’s future dies
The robots now look at man with questions in their eyes.
