Lyrics
A valiant history buff wants to save the Titanic from it's fate. He takes the chances, but comes to realize that people will not believe him. His warnings fall on deaf ears. Thrown into the ships brig is his final reward. People see him as a fool. His price wasted.
“They Don’t Listen”
(Lyrics: Chuck Webster, Music: M. Novak)
The history buff wants to save the day
The Time Keeper says what he must pay
The price seems a value to save many lives
Many were killed, only a few survived
He sets his time for two days before it struck
Thinking he could divert some bad luck
His mission to warn the captain and crew
To steer the mighty ship and sail on through
CHORUS:
They don't listen = Feeling they were special
They don't listen = On an ironclad vessel
They don't listen = Their cries filled the night
They don't listen = Too frozen to fight
He appeared on the bridge of the iron Titanic
With two days to convince them not to panic
Their reactions to his warnings fell on deaf ears
He always thought they would breakout with cheer
They considered him mad dismissing his fears
His warnings not heeded not believing his tears
They threw him into sick bay under armed guards
He pleaded with anyone who came within yards
CHORUS:
They don't listen - Feeling they were special
They don't listen - They don't listen They don't listen
They don't listen - They’re on an indestructible vessel
They don't listen - Their cries filled the night
They don't listen - Too frozen to fight
His warning was on time as he had projected
He screamed and cried but he was rejected
It hit with such power the ship was deflected
He returned to his time his soul dejected
CHORUS:
They didn't listen - They were so special
They don't listen - They don't listen They don't listen
They didn't listen - On that unsinkable vessel
They didn't listen - Their cries filled the night
They didn't listen - Too frozen to fight
