"The Guardian"
(Lyrics: M. Novak, C. Webster - Music: M. Novak)
The humans did well under the first Guardian
Creating culture made them more than barbarians
Math and an alphabet were the tools of the day
Civilizations thrived when rules were obeyed
The first stones were gathered and stacked with precision
Giving birth to the idea of mythical visions
Seven wonders rose from knowledge unfurled,
Deemed gifts from gods in the underworld.
CHORUS:
The Guardian guided man for thousands of years
The Guardian guided man through joy and tears
The Guardian’s voice a message in a bottle
The Guardian’s hands were always on the throttle
As city states grew great empires appeared
The rulers gained control with swords and fear.
As the dynasties evolved using the King’s book of rules
Knowledge was spread by examples and schools
The Egyptians brought man engineering and math
Building mountains of stone they set the path
The Sumerians gave man the symbols to write
Opening the door to let in the light
Chorus:
Then came Rome with ruthless dominance
Expanding control over each new Provence
The Greeks created a new form of government
With the concept of a democratic covenant
The next Guardian brought further learning.
Adding Art, literature, medicine and farming
The guided wisdom was dispersed to all lands
The overall result was out of man’s hands
Chorus:
